It was built in a fundamental pitch of C with additional tuning slide and 2 tuning bits for playing in Bb. The original silver plating is intact, and the instrument has 2 small patches on leadpipe. The horn's main bell features an embossed wreath around the logo and the King's crest. The valves were copper plated at some point and hold compression with thicker oil like Berp 3. We cleaned the horn and aligned the valves, and it's in very good overall condition. Echo cornets became more popular in the 1880's and feature a 4th valve for a secondary bell with "echo chamber" which was designed to simulate the sound of playing in a distance and give the horn an almost "Harmon mute" sound. Comes with original case, original Bb tuning bit plus an extra one, antique cornet mouthpiece (unmarked), and Besson music lyre.
