Used 2016 Schilke A1 cornet in silver plate. This long-model cornet uses Schilke’s #1 taper for a very focused sound with excellent projection, along with a first slide saddle and third slide ring for intonation control. It plays with stellar valve action and an incredibly sparkly sound with a Bach 3C cornet mouthpiece, but that brilliance is easily tamed with something deeper like a Denis Wick 4B. Response and intonation are amazing, and it’s simply a very fun, high-end-feeling instrument to play that can work across just about any style of music. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and compression is like new. Apart from some very minor surface scratches on the bell and a couple of other spots, this horn is in excellent shape with no evidence of significant repairs or red rot. There's also one tiny spot of plating loss on the very end of the third valve slide, but the plating is otherwise intact. Does not come with a case.
