This Kanstul-made Flip Oakes Wild Thing Bb cornet plays with an absolutely monster-size sound, thanks to the extra-large bore and 5" large-throated bell. It resonates extremely well and the sound stays warm yet lively, due partly to the triple-shepherd's crook design (reminiscent of the Benge 8Z cornets). We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and the valve action and compression are both excellent. There's some evidence of repairs on the back turn, but there's no plating loss or signs of severe trauma that would affect playability. This would be great in any situation, from British brass band and concert band to any flavor of jazz. Comes with the original case in excellent condition.
