Demo model Van Laar Short Model Bb cornet in silver plate. This cornet has never been owned, only played in-store. This is an extremely smooth-playing shepherd’s crook cornet that truly excels in the brass band arena. Articulations are crisp, intonation is excellent, and the valve action is fast enough for even the most difficult passages. The sound is very refined and warm, but the cornet responds very well to different mouthpiece styles, from a deep V like a Denis Wick 2 to a more upper-register-friendly piece like a Greg Black 3B. This also makes it versatile enough for other styles of music. No case, comes with Van Laar dust bag and care kit.FROM VAN LAAR:
The Short (shepherd’s crook) model has a medium-sized bell that produces a typical brass-band sound. It has been developed for both brass-band players and soloists. Its huge projection will certainly be greatly appreciated by the latter. The cornet has outstanding intonation and flexibility with regard to the formation of the tone. Thanks to these attributes, the player can attain his very own, unique timbral conception. What is more, the sleek design ensures that the weight is well-balanced. As for the slotting, the notes engage well and can be quickly and easily found.
