Used Yamaha YCR-261S Eb cornet in silver plate, very good condition, from the collection of the late Tony Gorruso, a renowned New York City trumpeter known for his work with Frank Sinatra, Gypsy, Miss Saigon, and many other major productions and recordings. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and compression was very good with a standard oil like Yamaha Regular. Plating is in excellent shape with no plating loss, just some minor scuffs and evidence of some light repairs on the bell stem, back turn and leadpipe. Valve action is superb. Despite being a student horn, this Yamaha YCR-261S Eb cornet punches well above its weight. With a V-cup mouthpiece, this horn sings with a rich, warm tone and a centered core that rivals pro-level models. Perfect for the soprano cornet chair in a British-style brass band -- or even for Eb trumpet repertoire like the Haydn Trumpet Concerto. Comes with original case in very good condition.
