Used Courtois AC154R flugelhorn in lacquer, good condition. This small-bore, large-bell flugel has plenty of lacquer wear and cosmetic blemishes throughout, plus evidence of some minor repairs here and there, but it plays like a dream! The direct airflow system between the valve casings gives it a slightly more open blow than you might expect without making you feel like you're falling in, and the huge gold brass bell gives it a warm, buttery, dark sound with tons of presence. It came to us from the collection of Jon Lampley (
Late Night with Stephen Colbert, Huntertones, Lake Street Dive and MANY more), so it's been on some pretty impressive stages in its lifetime. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and the valve action is superb. No case.
