Cerveny instruments are produced by Amati in the Czech Republic, and this model offers a distinctive rotary flugelhorn sound while using a trumpet shank mouthpiece. The horn has been professionally cleaned and received a precision rotor alignment in our shop. About 90–95% of the original lacquer remains, with some lacquer loss near solder joints indicating previous repairs. There is no evidence of serious trauma. The instrument shows light surface wear and scattered surface scratches, along with signs of minor repairs in a few areas. The optional bell kranz is in great shape. There is also a small ding in the back bowguard, but nothing that affects playability.
We play tested the horn with a Bob Reeves FT adapter and a Yamaha 14F4 mouthpiece. Response is even from low C to high C, with solid intonation and a particularly beautiful sound in the lower and middle register.
Includes the original Amati-branded case in very good condition.
