Used Inderbinen Bb Smoky flugelhorn made for modern jazz luminary Theo Croker, in excellent condition. The bell finish is raw brass with an antique treatment that gives it almost a wood-like appearance, while the body has bronze and nickel silver casings, and the slides are a mix of yellow brass and nickel silver. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and it is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. We tested with a Bach flugel mouthpiece (the works best with a small Morse taper): The sound is dark but with a ton of power and presence -- it won't get lost or buried in any playing situation. The Bauerfeind valves are absolutely stellar, the blow is roomy but not too big, and the horn responds very evenly all the way up and down. No case.
