Used 1922 Besson Brevete Grands Prix Bb trumpet. This century-old-plus horn was replated and valve-jobbed at some point in its life, and it plays amazingly well, with a gorgeous, powerful, full-bodied sound that adapts well to different mouthpieces--it would be at home in any playing situation. Resistance is similar to an older Bach 37, and response, projection, and feedback are all top-notch, with very good intonation aided by the underslung third valve slide ring. Valve action and compression are both excellent.
We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and there's plenty of unevenness in the brass underneath the plating throughout from prior repairs, as well as some surface scratches and blemishes, but the replate is 100% intact and there's nothing structural or that affects playability. Some tubes were copper plated at some point to be refit -- there's a crack in the copper plating on the 2nd slide top leg but not in the tube itself.
Comes with a slightly later-period Besson case in good condition with working latches and springs.
