This used 1925 Besson Meha Bb trumpet us in good overall condition, though it's seen some use in the 100 years since it was made. This medium bore trumpet plays with a full, round sound and good response and projection, plus the French bead provides plenty of player feedback. Overall, this vintage horn well-suited to all-around playing, section playing, a. The valve action and compression are good with a standard oil like Yamaha Regular, and about 60% of the dark honey-colored lacquer remains intact (it was relacquered at some point long ago). We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and while there's no red rot, there are a few things to note: The horn has patches on the leadpipe, 2nd slide, bottom of the bell stem, 2 on the main tuning slide, and one on the top third slide tube. It also has an aftermarket third slide ring, a Bach stop rod mounted on the side of the third slide, the first slide stop was moved from the top to the bottom leg where the original thumb ring would have been, and there's an aftermarket 1st thumb saddle on top. Comes with original case in fair but functional condition; the latches work but the latch springs do not.
