Used 1938 Rudy Muck Duo Bore Bb trumpet in lacquer, good condition. This rare horn plays with a round, compact sound that's easy to color, and it has a remarkably agile feel as well as very fast valves--perfect for bebop! In fact, there are plenty of pictures of jazz icon Fats Navarro playing one. It has a lot in common with a Blessing Super Artist, but without the slide lock mechanism, among a few other minor changes. It has a step bore of .448"-468" through the main tuning slide, as well as an underslung third valve slide ring. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and at some point in its life it was relacquered and had a valve job. About 95% of the lacquer remains, and there are surface scratches and evidence of repairs here and there, as well as minor red rot in the leadpipe. The stop nuts are also non-original. Case not included.
