Dark when it needs to be, brightens up when pushed. Response is very good, and the valves are absolutely superb. Fantastic shape. Works great with both Monette and non-Monette mouthpieces. Like driving a luxury high-end Mercedes. The B993 Bb Trumpet is the Monette that laid the design cornerstone for the infamous Monette P3 (used most famously by Wynton Marsalis).
