Oil: Yamaha and Trombotine mixUsed 1932–33 Olds “The Olds” Model straight tenor trombone in very good condition. We gave it a professional cleaning and ensured the slide is in proper alignment. The bell and slide have different serial numbers, though they are within about a year of each other, with the slide being slightly newer. The handslide, gooseneck, and main tuning slide are nickel silver. It also has a friction fitting and no slide lock, consistent with its '30s vintage. The horn shows some lacquer loss on the bell flare, as well as on the gooseneck and main tuning slide, as well as minor loss on the handslide--leaving about 85% of the lacquer overall. There are no signs of major trauma. Playtesting revealed a rich, flexible sound and agile feel that makes this an excellent small-bore trombone for a wide range of musical settings. Slide action is best with a mix of Yamaha slide lubricant and Trombotine. Comes with the original case; the handle is missing but it's in otherwise good shape.
