This used 1979 Holton TR181 bass trombone came to us from the collection of trombonist Ray Harris (Duke Ellington Orchestra, Cab Calloway, The Temptations). Ray is a lefty, and fellow southpaws will appreciate this left-handed configuration on one of the most popular bass trombones ever to be produced. We thoroughly cleaned this unusual horn and it's in great playing shape; cosmetically it has a few areas of lacquer loss and some surface scratches throughout but nothing that affects playability. It has Ray's name engraved on the inside of the bell flare, which is detachable. The sound is warm and full, and this bass bone can really bark when it needs to -- ideal for big band but will fit in any playing situation requiring a big bottom end. Comes with original case.
