Used 1979 Olds Super Star bass trombone in silver plate. This versatile bass trombone is perfect for players who need to fill a room -- or a stadium -- thanks to a monster-size sound, not to mention spectacular slide action. The F attachment also has a stop rod that lets you pull to E.
We gave this rare horn a professional cleaning and precision rotor alignment, plus we added some raw brass extension tubes to the bell section to bring the pitch into tune (it was originally a bit high). The tubes we used are a larger bore, so we expanded the original gooseneck to accommodate them.
The bell section's silver plate is mostly intact except near the areas where we installed the extensions, and there's some minor plating loss on the rotor cap, main tuning slide, bell tail and one of the branches. There are also a couple small areas of plating loss on bell flare and stem, as well as some very minor surface scratches. The handslide has some plating loss at the contact points, but the plating is largely intact on the outer tubes and crook. There's some evidence of minor repairs but no sign of severe trauma and no significant wear on the inner tubes.
Comes with ProTec MAX backpack case in excellent shape.
