Used Greenhoe GB5-3G bass trombone in lacquer with an independent valve setup, 9.5" one-piece lightweight gold brass bell with a soldered rim, and .562" bore. Designed in the tradition of the great full-bodied orchestral bass trombones of the mid-to-late 20th century, this horn combines a yellow brass main tuning slide and handslide with nickel silver oversleeves and handslide crook, along with two interchangeable yellow brass leadpipes. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision rotor alignment. The handslide is in excellent condition with just a few surface scuffs here and there, no significant lacquer wear, and no plating wear on the inner tubes. The bell section is in similarly excellent shape, with only extremely light surface wear and evidence of a very minor repair to the flare near the rim. There’s some scratching on the crossbar and a tiny area of lacquer wear from a handguard next to the thumb rotor lever assembly, but otherwise the lacquer is fully intact. It plays with fantastic rotor action and a quick, clear response, thanks in part to the lightweight bell, with a huge, full-bodied sound that has plenty of warmth and projection. The soldered bell rim gives you plenty of flexibility to color the sound without sacrificing projection, while the combination of gold and yellow brass with the nickel silver handslide components gives it a great balance of warmth, clarity, and presence. This is a classic orchestral bass trombone sound with plenty of power when you need it. Comes with the original case in good overall shape and two interchangeable leadpipes.
