Used Lidl Brno Alto Trombone in lacquer, very good condition. This Czech-made instrument is pitched in Eb and has a single rotor for Bb tuning, no slide lock and a friction fitting. The lacquer is 99% intact on bell section, and about 90% on handslide, and there's a long nickel patch on the tube connecting the rotor to the bell tail. We tested with a Bach 9AT contra-alto trumpet mouthpiece and got this fun little horn to speak quite easily with a round sound that has a little punch to it. It was formerly owned by John Coffey, bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra during the mid-20th century. It came to us via the estate of Andre Smith, a musicologist and former bass trombonist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in NYC. No case.
