We gave it a bath and a polish, and it is ready to play! No dings or dents, just some very minor surface wear (very light scratches) here and there. No evidence of prior repairs or red rot. At some point the horn had a Reeves alignment, but the alignment possibly drifted a bit over time -- we re-aligned the valves with our own materials, though we also kept the original Reeves materials (and labeled them so as to preserve the original order). The fat #0 taper of the yellow brass bell is reminiscent of the classic Martin Committee, and combined with the reverse leadpipe and XL step bore, it gives this horn a pretty remarkable combination of vintage warmth and clarity. The valves are excellent - smooth and fast with plenty of compression.
