Used 1927 Conn 18B Bb/A/C trumpet in very good condition. Comes with the original case and full kit, including a gold-plated Conn BI-220 mouthpiece. This model switches between Bb and A with a change rotor on the main tuning slide and also includes a full set of slides for C, making it a versatile and historically significant instrument.

We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve and rotor alignment. The matte silver finish is in excellent shape and contrasts beautifully with the polished slides and bell engraving. There is only minor wear on the valve block at the contact points and on some of the trim rings. The 2nd Bb slide shows evidence of past repairs, but the horn shows no signs of significant trauma.

In playtesting, this trumpet produced a warm, centered sound with the included mouthpiece, and intonation was quite good in all configurations. Valve action is smooth, and compression is best with slide grease on the rotor (it doesn't need to move fast!) and a thicker oil such as Hetman 3 on the pistons.

This is a well-preserved example of Conn’s craftsmanship from the late 1920s, a piece of history that deserves to be played as much as collected.

Mouthpiece: Produced in the 1920s, similar in size to a Bach 7B. Rim has some minor surface wear but nothing that goes through the plating. Shank has some minor wear and insertion marks but is round.
