Oil: Berp 3This used 1928 Bach NY Stradivarius 6-6 gold-plated Bb trumpet came to us in very good condition from the estate of late NYC trumpet legend Tony Gorruso (Frank Sinatra, Spyro Gyra, Miss Saigon). We gave this well-preserved piece of Bach history a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and we found compression best with a thicker oil like Berp 3. It has a 6 bell and 6 leadpipe, which combine for a focused, bright sound with very little effort. Valve action is very good, and the French-style bell bead gives very good feedback. At some point before it was replated, a first slide ring was added. There's evidence of minor repairs here and there, but no signs of significant trauma or red rot, which is amazing for a nearly 100-year-old horn! The gold plating is beginning to fade on the bell past the throat and in a few other spots, but overall the finish is in very good shape, and there's no raw brass showing. Comes with newer Bach hard case in fair condition.
