Used 1942 Bach New York Mercedes in very good condition. This horn came to us from the collection of longtime NY Metropolitan Opera trumpeter (and JLB logo designer!) Peter Bond. It's in great shape for its age, especially after we cleaned it and gave the valves a precision alignment, and there are no signs of red rot in the leadpipe. About 70% of the original dark honey-colored lacquer remains on this New York-era Bach, and the valve compression is virtually like new at just over 95%! Originally designed as a student horn, the Mercedes used Strad parts but featured a two-piece bell. This model is a medium bore (.452") and plays with great clarity and brilliance. Comes with original case.
