This used 1946 King Liberty 2B Bb trumpet has about 90-95% of the gorgeous original dark honey-colored lacquer remaining and no evidence of major repairs. We gave this vintage King a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and we found compression best with a thicker oil like Berp 3. The valve action is excellent, and the horn is in overall good shape despite some evidence of the earliest stages of red rot in the leadpipe--easily managed through proper care. It plays with a powerful, vibrant sound that projects well, as well as a free-blowing feel thanks to the rounded main tuning slide. No case.
