Legions of jazz trumpeters consider the Martin Committee a vital addition to any serious horn collection. Plenty of trumpets have been designed to replicate the sound of the Martin Committee but can’t quite pull it off. The Martin Committee was introduced in 1939 and quickly became a favorite among jazzers. At This time the company started working on a new trumpet design based on input from a “committee” of leading instrument designers and trumpet players.

This is a 1949 Martin Committee. This horn has quite the list of past owners! It was owned by Wallace Roney, and Chris Botti. There is an A stamp on it which means it was made for an endorsing artist, but we have no record of who this instrument was originally made for. It was original valves and really responds well. Would be ideal for jazz settings. Serial is 170746
