This used 1950 Reynolds Professional Model 51 Sterling Deluxe Bb trumpet plays with a very direct, focused sound with plenty of core, and it can definitely cut through an ensemble without sounding shrill. It has a sterling silver bell with gold plating on the inside, as well as nickel upper balusters, leadpipe and slide tubes, and the gold-plated hand-burnished engraving on the bell is a true work of art. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and we found valve action and compression best with Hetman 3 oil. 50% of the original lacquer remains, and there's evidence of repairs to the second slide crook, but no other evidence of significant work or trauma. There's plenty of surface wear throughout, but none of it keeps this gorgeous instrument from being totally eye-catching. Comes with non-original vintage hard case in very good condition.
