This used Chicago-era 1951 Benge 3X ML Bb trumpet in raw brass has plenty of miles on it, but it's got lots of life left in it and plays with a flexible, easily colored sound that projects well with plenty of brilliance. The ML bore is very comfortable without being restrictive, especially for players who like a little bit of resistance to lean into. The valves move smoothly and quickly with a "soft" feel.
We gave this vintage Benge a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and we found compression best with Berp 2 oil. There's visible brass wear on leadpipe, valve block, and third slide, as well as scratches and minor imperfections on bell. There's also a well-done protective patch under the leadpipe, an aftermarket first slide saddle, and spacer/weights under bottom valve caps. No case.
