This used 1952 Blessing Super Artist Bb trumpet is in good condition and has been cleaned and precision-aligned in our shop. It’s raw brass, with typical surface wear for its age but nothing that affects playability, and there’s no red rot or evidence of severe trauma. The horn has non-original bottom caps and is missing the vertical brace from the leadpipe to the body, but it remains structurally sound and plays very well.
It plays with a free-blowing feel and projects very well. The sound is flexible and powerful, staying nicely dark with a larger mouthpiece while lighting up cleanly with a lead setup. Response is very good, and articulations lean toward the rounder side while still allowing enough bite when needed. Compression and valve action are best with a thicker oil like Berp 3.
