Oil: La Tromba T1Used 1952 Olds Studio Bb trumpet in scratch-brushed raw brass finish with polished accents, good condition. We gave this vintage trumpet a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and we found valve compression best with a thicker oil like La Tromba T1. There are remnants of the original dark-colored lacquer (roughly 15% remaining), and the remaining raw brass has a light patina on it that will darken over time. The horn is in good shape overall, with some minor dents in the mouthpiece and main tuning slide receivers at either end of the leadpipe (see photos) and some evidence of repairs to the bell flare--none of which affect playability. At some point, someone had the third valve ring moved to the underside of the slide, similar to the classic Blessing Super Artist trumpets from the 1940s. The horn plays with a dark sound that projects very well, plus very good flexibility and valve action. No case.
