This 1958 Bach Mt. Vernon 43 Bb trumpet is in fantastic shape for its age! We gave this vintage horn from what is arguably Bach's most highly-regarded era a full professional cleaning and precision valve alignment. The original honey-toned lacquer is approximately 85% intact, with some minor wear throughout. There is no first valve slide saddle (factory standard at the time), and the instrument shows no evidence of major trauma—only minor repairs—and is overall in very good condition.
In our playtests, this trumpet had that resonance and classic Bach feel characteristic of the best Mt. Vernon horns, with very even intonation. The valves are fast and smooth, and compression is excellent with Yamaha Regular Synthetic oil. There's no gig we wouldn't feel perfectly comfortable taking this classic horn to. Comes with the original Bach Mt. Vernon case, which is in good condition. The latches work, though the springs do not, and some of the original metal feet on the side are missing.
