Used 1963 Martin Committee Deluxe Bb trumpet (medium bore, RMC era) in excellent condition. We gave this horn a complete valve rebuild, along with a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment. Valve action and compression are both like new. It was relacquered at some point in its life, and some of the engraving—especially on the receiver—was buffed down in the process. There is evidence of repairs in the bell tail and at a couple of spots along the stem, but otherwise it is in excellent condition with only a small area of lacquer loss at the bell tail ferrule. There are no signs of red rot. In playtesting, the horn produced a dark sound that brightens easily when pushed; with our test Bach 3C, we got a tone reminiscent of Blue Mitchell--mellow but with plenty of presence. Like other Committee models, this horn does not have a first slide trigger or saddle, but the horn's overall flexibility more than compensates. No case.
