Oil: Yamaha RegularThis used 1971 Bach C180ML239 has the "Corporation" stamp on the 239 bell, and it has about 80% of the the lacquer remaining. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and the valves are virtually like new with 95% compression using Yamaha Regular oil. There's some pitting in the brass at the contact points around the valve block and third valve slide, as well as plenty of surface wear throughout, but no red rot or signs of extreme trauma. The horn plays very well, with a very easy-blowing feel to it thanks to the ML bore and 25C leadpipe, and the sound has lots of core as well as the right amount brilliance for any playing situation. The included 1970's-era Bach single case has a modified interior, and both latches work.
