Used 1973 Bach Stradivarius 229 C trumpet in lacquer. This early Elkhart-era Bach C has seen some use, but it's a fantastic player! We gave it a professional cleaning and installed a new/old stock Bach 25H leadpipe on it. The original lacquer on the body is about 50-60% intact, and the bell is raw brass. There some wear to the brass at the contact points. Bell is raw brass, with some evidence of repairs to the stem and flare. Compression is best with a slightly thicker oil like Hetman 3. No case. We replaced the leadpipe with new/old stock 25H.From the owner: c 1973 built by Bob Giardinelli based on specs by Ron Kutik. Rebuilt in early 1980s.
Plays extremely well, with excellent valve action, even intonation and fast response. Lights up a bit in the upper register without too much work, making it a suitable choice for principal trumpet players but really would work in any C trumpet situation from orchestral sections to quintets.
