Used 1977 Benge CG (Claude Gordon Model) Bb trumpet in raw brass. This lightweight Los Angeles era Benge has a 6X bell and huge .468" bore with a bell choke of .464" to provide just enough resistance to make response instantaneous. The leadpipe was modeled after Gordon's pre-war Besson Meha with a .344" venturi. This horn's receiver isn't stretched out like many vintage Benges due to the thinness of the metal, and it is extremely free blowing with a superb upper register. The sound has a lot of sizzle and can cut easily through a big band.
We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and despite significant wear to the brass from many years of heavy use, there's no red rot and the valve action is fantastic, with very good compression. This is a great choice for players who like a broad, powerful feel with plenty of room to lean in.
Comes with vintage non-original case.
