Used Kanstul Hal Oringer Model heavyweight Bb trumpet in raw brass, excellent condition. This one-of-a-kind horn has heavy trim and sheet bracing initially designed for famed photographer and instrument collector Hal Oringer. The horn features a unique bell profile designed for Hal and a Monette-style main slide. We gave it a cleaning and precision valve alignment, and it's very clean -- no dents, red rot, or signs of significant trauma, just some evidence of a small repair near the bell rim. This horn plays with a thick, dark sound that's very even throughout the entire range of the horn -- a jazzer's delight! This horn will take all you can give it in terms of volume without breaking up, but that's just from all the extra mass - the .459" ML bore still has an easy-playing feel to it. We swapped in a lead piece and it can brighten up enough to cut in commercial settings. The valve action is excellent, and the recessed top caps are flush with the finger buttons when pressed all the way down. Please note, this is a raw brass horn and it will patina nicely over time for a vintage look (easily refreshed with a very gentle metal polish). No case.
