This used 2006 Bach Stradivarius 18037 Bb trumpet has a gold-plated finish with a newly installed silver-plated 25 leadpipe. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and we measured excellent valve compression. The gold plate shows some fading in spots, and there is very minor surface wear here and there, but no evidence of trauma. The iridescent finger button inlays are gorgeous, and despite a few cosmetic flaws, this is a very fine-looking horn. There is a small area on the knuckle where the bottom leg of the first slide enters the valve casing that was filled to address a small hole that had developed. The repair holds compression well (as verified during testing) and does not affect playability. The valves are extremely smooth and responsive, and the horn produces a brilliant, full sound with spot-on intonation and quick, lively response. It’s an absolute gem that would fit comfortably in any ensemble and is particularly well-suited for soloists. Comes with the original case, which is in good condition with typical signs of use.
