Used Blackburn Lux Bb trumpet in silver plate, very good condition, with two main tuning slides. This Pickett/Blackburn trumpet is absolutely gorgeous and very well-made right here in the U.S. It's an ML bore, but the two main tuning slides let you customize the feel, with one labeled "high efficiency" and the other "AU" is standard. We play tested the horn with each one and found the sound to be extremely broad and colorful with an open feel using the AU slide, and we got a somewhat more traditional sound with the HE slide that would be for blending in a section. Valve action and compression are both excellent. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and there's no plating loss, though there is some light surface wear a small imperfection in the bell bead right along where the seam is--very minor and doesn't affect playability. This is an extremely versatile horn that would be at home in any playing situation but truly shines in a Broadway show pit. No case.

After two years of close research and product development with Cliff Blackburn we have developed, the Lux.  The Lux was designed for optimal efficiency with the "freelance trumpeter" in mind. The 0.020" ambronze bell coupled with Cliff's 21 leadpipe design is an amazing combination of efficiency and power. The Lux offers two tuning slide configurations to match the desired resistance of the horn to the player.

Constructed using a .460" valve block with components measuring .453", our Blackburn 313A20S bell is paired with our #21 reverse leadpipe and features a .341" venturi.
