This used Martin Bohme Tumultus XL Bb trumpet came to us from the collection of world-renowned avant garde trumpet improviser Peter Evans. It's in great shape, with excellent compression, extremely fast valves, and no rot or significant trauma. We gave this raw brass horn a professional cleaning, a precision valve alignment, and a high polish. (Please note, the raw brass finish will develop a beautiful vintage-looking patina over time and may show some water spots. It can easily be refreshed at home, feel free to ask us for details.) The ML bore gives the huge 5.5" bell a bit of "power steering", and the horn plays with a very broad sound that is easy to color no matter what mouthpiece we tested it with. This is an excellent choice for soloists who need a very wide tonal palette and an instrument that will take whatever you can throw at it. Case not included.

He's been the recipient of awards and commissions worldwide including the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship in 2022. He's released 20 albums of original music including the critically acclaimed Ghosts, Lifeblood and Being & Becoming. A prolific composer and performer, Evans tours regularly with his groups Being & Becoming, SYMPHONY, Forever 21, as a soloist and as a collaborator with some of the leading lights of modern music.
