Used Eclipse Bb trumpet with in-bell tuning slide in good condition. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment; action on the Bauerfeind valves is excellent, compression is best with a thicker oil like Berp 3. With heavy valve caps, Amado keys, and 5" red brass bell, it's a pretty modern horn, not to mention the unique trombone-like main tuning slide located at the back turn of the bell instead of at the end of the leadpipe. Cosmetically, the lacquer is in fantastic shape, though there's some evidence of repairs on the leadpipe (as well as a small stress crack but this doesn't affect compression at all) and bell rim, plus some light surface scratches here and there. There's also a slight discoloration underneath the lacquer on the third valve casing. No red rot or signs of significant trauma. It plays fairly open with a warm sound and plenty of room for soloists to move around in the slots. If you're looking for a jazz sound that skews towards fluffy ballads, this would be a good choice, though it does respond well to a lead mouthpiece for more sizzle. Comes with an Eastman case in excellent condition.

FROM ECLIPSE:
ECLIPSE TRUMPET: This model features a uniquely designed main tuning slide not seen in other trumpets. By moving the tuning slide away from its traditional location as part of the leadpipe, a solution has been found to the disturbance of airflow between mouthpiece and valve section. Much attention and development has gone into this key part of the design.

LR Large Red Bell
This bell has proved to be the favourite choice of jazz soloists. It has warm, velvet timbres, within a large, golden sound. The slotting is more flexible than on the medium bells which allows for expressive and personal playing. It is very free blowing, speaks very easily is and responsive over a huge dynamic range. As you put more air through the horn the sound just grows and grows, it retains the rich, dark core to the tone but will also really project and open up when you want a phrase to flare out. At home in a variety of musical settings, the large red has also found favour with European classical players.
