This J. Landress Brass Custom Shew2Shiro Meha Bb trumpet in raw brass is made of new-old-stock Yamaha and Kanstul parts that we assembled here in our shop before cleaning, buffing, and polishing it. We also gave it a precision valve alignment and some turquoise finger button inlays, and the compression and valve action -- and general horn condition -- is like-new. It's built on the following parts:
• New-old-stock Yamaha 6335 valve block
• Yamaha Shew (2nd gen) leadpipe
• Yamaha Shew (2nd gen) main tuning slide
• Yamaha 8340EM Miyashiro model bottom main slide leg and outer tubing from main slide to valve body
• New-old-stock Kanstul Meha bell with long stabilizing ferrule
It plays with a broad brilliance that gives you the best sonic qualities of Yamaha's beloved 6xxx series and classic Besson Meha trumpets with the balance and response of the Shew leadpipe / Miyashiro slide leg combo. It's on the lighter side and skews a bit towards the commercial side of things, but it can definitely be a lively all-arounder. This is truly an impressive commercial horn that we are very proud of having brought to life. No case included.
