This used Schagerl Charis large bore C trumpet in silver plate has a crisp, powerful sound, reminiscent of a Bach Chicago C or other somewhat lighter-than-standard C. The brightness can, however, be easily tamed with a deep-bowl mouthpiece with a larger throat. We gave it a professional cleaning and precision valve alignment, and it's in excellent shape with no plating wear, no red rot, no dents or dings, and like-new compression! The valves feel very nice, and the blow is efficient without feeling tight. Intonation is good, and it's easy to retain the correct sound when using false fingerings. Excellent choice for concert band or ensembles where you need a slightly brighter C trumpet sound. No case.
