A beautiful YTR-8340EM Bb trumpet that is owned by Marquis Hill! If you are a fan of Marquis', now is your chance to own a piece of musical history.

The Yamaha YTR-8340EM, originally designed with Eric Miyashiro, is one of the most versatile trumpets made from Yamaha. Marquis added a few personal touches with this horn, moving specific braces around per his personal taste for immediate response as well as adding a mid-weight trim kit from Pickett Brass for depth of tone and stability. Equally at home in a jazz club, outdoor festival, recording studio, broadway show, club date, quintet recital, or the backrow of an orchestra, this trumpet can truly do it all! This trumpet is perfectly balanced to compliment all mouthpieces from deep to shallow giving you an unlimited tonal palate. The multi bore design paired with a 5 1/4" French bead bell give you endless endurance to play for hours on end with a beautiful and massive sound. And lastly, being made from our good friends at Yamaha, you know intonation will be perfect and spot on for every note! Used, no case.

From Yamaha:
This model, developed in collaboration with Eric Miyashiro, draws out the emotional resonance of the performer. From its triple ring finger hook, large bell with French bead, side seam finish and customized mouthpiece design to its semi-hard double backpack case, the instrument showcases Yamaha’s attention to detail at every turn.
Multi-bore: When the piston is not depressed, the trumpet has the same bore structure as a Bb trumpet as M bore size. However when the piston is depressed, the unique “multi-bore” structure reduces the difference in back pressure by passing through the L bore valve slide.
French Bead: Unlike traditional methods where a round rim is used in curling, French bead is an extremely advanced technique that matches the curling to the shape of a semi-cylindrical rim and is characterized by improved feedback of sound to the performer.
Side Seam: Side seaming is the process of placing the connection point on the lateral valve casing side in contrast to the conventional method of placing the connection point on the lower side of the bell. Side seam trumpets are characterized by a more open vibration.
